Natural draft air cooled heat exchangers are synonymous with their name in that there are no fans used to drive air through the tube bundle. A chimney is provided above the tube bundle to create the draft necessary to suck and push air through the tube bundle. In this logic, these are similar to induced draft air cooled heat exchangers. However, the extent of process side control possible in these units is limited.
