Suction heaters are basically provided where the fluid stored in a tank is highly viscous in nature and poses difficulties in pumping the fluid. The heat exchanger is essentially of the U-tube type construction and is installed generally in the outlet nozzle of the vessel. The hot fluid passing inside the tubes of the tube bundle heats up the viscous fluid on the outside of the tubes and thus eases pumping efforts.
