Fatigue analysis due to cyclic service conditons for two pressure vessels – one mounted on top of another with the bottom vessel supported on spring hangers and no rigid foundation.

All design documents reviewed by : JGC, Japan.
Major design attributes
- Design conditions : 9.55 bar(g) and 400oC
- Time – vs – Pressure and temperature cycles given by client.
- Cycle time = 1 hour
- Pressure variation : 5.55 bar(g) to 2.95 bar(g) within the cycle
- Temperature variation : 30oC to 150oC within the cycle Equipment life of 20 years.
- Complete system modelled in ANSYS.
- The specified boundary conditions and load cases evaluated.
- Stress linearization performed as per design code.
Suggested minimum required thickness for some components of the system to ensure that the above requirements are met.
