Mechanical design of high pressure air cooled heat exchanger tube bundle. Design as per Part 5 of ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2 – Design by analysis only.

Major design attributes
- No. of units : Two (First stage and Second stage Compressor After Coolers).
- Design pressure : 150 bar(g) for one cooler and 280 bar(g) for second cooler.
- Complete tube bundle modelled in ANSYS. The specified boundary conditions and load cases evaluated.
- Stress linearization performed as per design code.
- Axi-symmetricity used to reduce model size and run time of the solver.
- Analysis checked for hydrotest conditions also.
Qualification of complete tube bundle assembly as per ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2 Part 5 – Design by Analysis method.
Mesh sensitivity analysis performed to ensure accuracy of results.
