Tank inlet / outlet connected with pump suction and discharge piping in a tank farm
Transheat scope
Analysis of tank inlet / outlet piping connected with pump suction and discharge in a tank farm with working and standby pump philosophy.
Installation in : At a plant in UAE.
All design documents reviewed by : PDVSA, Venezuela and ASME AI.
Transheat did a complete static analysis for the pump suction and discharge piping connecting to the tank inlet and outlet lines to ensure that stresses in the piping network are within code allowable limits. Necessary supports were provided to also ensure that the loads transferred from the piping to the tank nozzles and pump nozzles at the terminal points were within allowable limits. Necessary load cases were defined to evaluate the working and standby philosophy of pumps. Use of spring hangers is made, where necessary, to limit the forces and moments at equipment and pump nozzle locations.
